It was April of 2024. I was putting together our summer schedule for my twin girls who were almost 5 and as all parents can relate- summer planning is overwhelming, not to mention very expensive! I hated that I was going to be missing out on going to the pool, park dates and pick-ups from summer camps. 

I wanted to be present and be the one making those summer memories. I was no longer fulfilled in my current role working as Head of Customer Success at a data engineering software company. I started thinking about what if there was a different option.

Being the money geek I am, I sat down to crunch some numbers. How long could I take off work to make this a reality and take the summer off to hang out with my girls before they went to kindergarten? How would this impact the other financial goals we working towards? I talked to my husband that night and we walked through the numbers together to make sure we both felt comfortable with how we could make this work.

I gave my notice the next morning.

Walking away from a high-paying career wasn't easy but at the end of the day, it is not about the money. 

It's about using money as a tool to create freedom and unlocking opportunities.

I was able to take a break from my career because I was confident in my finances. I knew exactly how this decision would impact our long and short term goals and what we could afford. 

I wanted to help others have that same sense of freedom and be able to navigate life situations with ease. I wanted to give people the tools to understand impacts and trade-offs of making financial decisions.

I decided to put together a Financial Literacy course.

It was a side passion-project over the summer (yes, I told you I'm a money geek!). I put together on a 9-step course that would take someone from constantly feeling stressed and overwhelmed about personal finances to feeling empowered and confident in their financial future. 

It covered everything from how to rethink what is possible for your financial future, how to build a personal spending plan that will support you today and in the future and how to automate your wealth building process. 

I was so excited to get this out into the world!

I did retrospective calls with the beta users and despite the great reviews, they almost all had specific items and questions they wanted support with when it comes to implementing the strategies I teach in the course.
